Name: Jon Wilkes
What is your job? Drummer for the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
What social causes are most important to you? My boys and I in our band are all about helping people for no reason. It’s a way of life for us and we love doing whatever we can to help make our world a better place.
What charity do you support – and how?
We started our own none profit charity foundation “the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus guardian angel foundation”. With our foundation we are able to help all kinds of people and raise money for all kinds of charities all decided by us. It is real help from real people and we like it that way.
It is so awesome because not only do we get to rock every night, but we get to help people all over thru our foundation!
Is there a particular way you would want to encourage readers to be involved?
I think if everyone did one thing to help someone in need everyday this world would be a much better place and it would be us changing it!
How would you define social responsibility?
Honestly I am strong believer in do unto others as you would have them do to you. To me that defines social responsibility. If some needs help, help them and if you need help we got your back!
Do you have any tattoos that relate to your social views? Actually I do on my forearm I have big script that says “the revolution starts with us” which is true if you really think about it. On my wrist I have script saying “this kingdom at hand”. The way I see it no kingdom ever written down in the history books would have even came to be without the work of someone’s hand building it. There is another meaning to this tattoo but you will have to ask me face to face…
Quick list of tattoos/mention artists if you’d like:
My forearm piece and half sleeve were done by an amazing artist from Jacksonville, Florida named Kyle Miller if you don’t know who he is you should. Check him out at 8th Day Tattoo in Jacksonville, FL.
My huge chest piece was done by a bad ass named Randy Dickerson. He has been tattooing for 13 years and is from Detroit. Funny story he did my chest piece in one sitting 13 and half hours. Craziness!!!
My big 777 tattoo on my side was done by a friend of mine Chance Isobel he is a killer artist from Jacksonville, FL.
