What is your job? Social Liaison for Falling Whistles
What social causes are most important to you?
I work towards a world freer than our fathers. So, for me any cause that builds community and strives for a more connected world is beautiful. We need to become collaborative problem solvers within each of our desired causes.
What charity do you support – and how?
Currently, all of my efforts are towards peace in Congo. I run social media, press, and artist outreach for Falling Whistles: a campaign for peace in Congo.
Why do you have a passion for this one in particular, is there a personal tie?
Congo has always been seen as a lost cause, a place of impossibilities. I absolutely disagree. In a land where war has run rampant for over a decade, so much beauty and innovation has emerged. Falling Whistles works to empower local leaders on the ground and provide them with a platform to thrive. For me, this is why I have a passion for what we do. It is not about charity, but solidarity.
Is there a particular way you would want to encourage readers to be involved?
Visit the website, read the story and buy a whistle. Be a whistleblower for peace.
How would you define social responsibility?
Social responsibility is the continual growth towards human connectedness. Understanding our roles in each other’s lives, and working towards a positive world together.
Do you have any tattoos that relate to your social/charitable beliefs/work?
On my wrists the words Love and Faith remind me everyday that we must live with love for ourselves, and faith in others. And visa versa.
