Mayhem Festival's John Reese: Metal of Honor

Name:  John Reese

What is your job? Mayhem Festival Tour Producer

What social causes are most important to you? Those pertaining to children's needs and our military

How do you support these?
This year on Mayhem we have an awareness program aimed at the many needs our military men and women face called Metal of Honor. The Pathway Home is a residential home for men suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Hope for the Warriors serves the many needs military families face. IAVA has on onsite presence at each show to inform military attendee's on a number of topics and aid.

Why do you have a passion for this one in particular, is there a personal tie?
My father was a Paratrooper and Ranger and my nephew is in the military.

Is there a particular way you would want to encourage readers to be involved?

We have a text donation campaign going on right now. By texting MAYHEM to 41518 they can make an automatic $5.00 donation.  But finding out locally how a reader/attendee can get involved is our main goal. There are so many families in our communities that could us any type of assistance from helping tutor a child who has a parent serving overseas to offering help to a warrior who has come home physically disabled by his or her service.

How would you define social responsibility?
Awareness and action ...get off your ass and do something!

Quick list of tattoos/mention artists:
Panther, tiger, a cross, a bear claw, a tornado with all my favorite things...and, yes, I did get it in Kansas. Sacred heart, an "E" for my wife ....and some more that I am forgetting.
Vic Back and Tokyo Hiro are my two favorites...

A portion of the proceeds of each ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL ticket sold will go to Hope For The Warriors® and The Pathway Home to further aid them in continuing their necessary work.    ‘METAL OF HONOR’ will have an onsite presence at each festival date highlighting Hope For The Warriors® and The Pathway Home along with other ways people can get involved in their own communities.
