Kennedy Elsey for the Boston Children's Hospital

Name:  Kennedy Elsey

What is your job?  I am the funnier part of the Karson and Kennedy morning show on Mix 104.1 in Boston.

What social causes are most important to you?  Those fighting sexual violence and those helping young girls become amazing young women.

What charities do you support – and how?  I am a big supporter of BARCC (Boston Area Rape Crisis Center) hosting many of their events and doing what I can to spread the word of their incredible mission.  I have

recently become a board member for Special Olympics of Massachusetts and will be going “Over the Edge” in rappelling down the side of the Hyatt Regency Cambridge for the third year, and support Boston Children’s Hospital any chance I get - I’m currently running my second Boston Marathon for the hospital.

Why do you have a passion for this one in particular, is there a personal tie?  For the Boston Marathon for Children’s --  I met Sara and Emily Crowley during Mix 104.1’s annual Radio Thon and they changed my life.  Without Boston Children’s they wouldn’t be here today calling me Auntie Kennedy and I will be forever grateful to Boston Children’s for that.

Is there a particular way you would want to encourage readers to be involved?  I’d love a donation!

How would you define social responsibility?  That it’s our business as humans, as neighbors and as strangers to do something - anything - to help better our community and the people in it.
Do you have any tattoos that relate to your social work?
I don’t right now, but I’m planning on getting one after the Marathon!  I’ve got the spot all picked out and it’s going to feel great.

Quick list of tattoos and mention artists:  I have a lot of writing on my person.  For some reason words speak to me more than pictures.  Chris DeBarge from Stingray Body Art in Allston, Mass. is responsible for four of my tats and will certainly be doing the next.
