What social causes are most important to you? Fighting
Childhood Cancer
What charity do you support – and how? I am the
Executive Director of Stillbrave Childhood Cancer Foundation. Our mission is to
provide non-medical supportive care to children with cancer and their families.
Why do you have a passion for this one in particular, is
there a personal tie? Yes, I lost my daughter Shayla to Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in
2009.
Is there a particular way you would want to encourage readers
to be involved? Advocate, volunteer,
DONATE! ...just please DO something!
How would you define social responsibility? “I expect
to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can
show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not
defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." ~William Penn
Do you have any tattoos that relate to your
social work? I have the words “still” and “brave”
tattooed on my hands. If I place my hands in a position similar to praying they
come together to say Stillbrave.
