Name and job: Jordan Pease - Comedian/Author
Causes most important to you? Happiness, Safety and
Individuality among Youth.
What charities do you support? California LGBTCenters, The Trevor Project and Shelley Skyes Happy Charity. I wish I could
donate more money, but I am constantly referring fans, families,
parents and friends to their websites. So much information and so many
services are provided for free, just down the road, that most people have no
idea about. I try to promote happiness in everything I do. Life is too short to
dwell about things you regret. Get help, it's everywhere!
Why
do you have a passion for this one in particular, is there a personal tie?
LGBT Centers provide
care for so many people, whether straight, gay, bisexual, fat, thin, scared-
they can help you out mentally, physically, find a job, get your life on
track... basically fix you. The first time I walked into one I will never
forget the feeling. It almost felt like home. They had my back through
everything, every dream I dreamt and and every goal I set for myself. I can't
wait to perform standup comedy benefits for them!
Is
there a particular way you would want to encourage readers to be involved?
Being unique is the
most powerful thing on earth. I think everyone's social responsibility is to be
themselves and follow through with their teenage dreams. To me, Social
Responsibility means influencing others in a way that is right for you.
Make them laugh, make them cry- just do your own thing!
Do
you have any tattoos that relate to your social belief?
On my left arm I have a
black silhouette of a well known Banksy graffiti piece. It's a little
girl holding ballons, floating off the ground. Originally, Banksy painted
it on the West Bank Wall in Israel. Some say it represents freedom between
two battling countries, other say it represents childhood idealism.
Every time I look at my arm it reminds me to be free. It reminds me to
help other people. It reminds me to be a decent human being as often as I
can.
Your artist? Big shout out to Randal
of Body Electric Tattoo and Piercing in Los Angeles, and Jamie Draven of
Hemlock Collective in Sacramento. Her art work and tattoo designs are
impeccable and incomparable.
