Bullying: We're Kicking It

Name: Chef Barret Beyer

What is your job? Private/ Personal Chef

What social causes are most important to you? Just about anything that can leave a positive impact for our youth to see.

What charity do you support – and how? Reality Rally which is taking place in April in CA funds raised go to Michelle’s Place Breast Cancer Research. I am currently raising funds for this Charity to help people get early detection with Breast Cancer.  I am also Spokesperson for “Bullying We’re Kicking It" A Rocky Marciano Organization

Why do you have a passion for this one in particular, is there a personal tie? I see our youth growing up in today’s society and it concerns me that children 11,12,13 years old are taking their own life because of what someone said to them or how someone made them feel like no one cares or their worthless.

Is there a particular way you would want to encourage readers to be involved? If you have children, which I do (a daughter),  I would encourage parents or parental guardians to teach our youth that it is not ok to treat people as if they are better than them.  And also for the youth that are the ones being bullied I would say teach them to have self esteem an be proud of who they are, and to always stick up for themselves. Bullies prey on the weak and the ones that they know they can have control over.

How would you define social responsibility? You should always be held accountable for your actions and intentions. We have a responsibility as human beings and members of society to treat everyone with respect and how we would want to be treated.
